Resources

Disclaimer: This page is a listing of resources that my family and I found helpful.  We are not affiliated with any of them and are providing this only as possible locations for help.  This site was developed by Madison who was 6 at the time of our fire experience and she is now wanting to share her experience and offer a place for other kids to share their similar experiences.

Here you can find links to several resources that are available to you after a disaster.

Red Cross (www.redcross.org)
Registering with the Red Cross is very important in the aftermath of a disaster.   This registration will open up help and services to you.

FEMA’s Disaster Assistance (www.disasterassistance.gov)
After a federally declared disaster, those affected can register here to receive any assistance that the federal government offers.  We were personally able to receive an SBA loan to help offset our insurance coverage shortfall after the 2008 California wildfires.

Ready.Gov (Ready.Gov)
This is a page with preparedness information and resources for kids and parents.

National Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD – www.nvoad.org)
